Nights of Shadows: Clearing Up Misunderstandings

Hi everyone! 😊

Today, I want to dedicate this post to clearing up some misconceptions I’ve heard about my latest book, Noches de Sombras (Nights of Shadows). Some people seem to associate it with “monsters,” “cheap scares,” or even “sensationalism.” And, well, I can understand how the title or synopsis might give that impression, but no—nothing could be further from the truth! So, here I am to explain a bit more about what this book is really about and who it’s for.

What is this book all about, Noches de Sombras (Nights of Shadows)?

The book is divided into four parts, each with a different focus, but all revolving around one central theme: how cultures deal with death, the journey to the afterlife and the days dedicated to the dead.

Parts One and Two: Love and Cultural Connection

In these first two parts, I travel around the world exploring cultural traditions related to death. There's nothing dark or gruesome here. Instead, you'll find rituals full of love and connection, designed to honour and remember our loved ones who are no longer with us.

These traditions are deeply human, full of symbolism and, above all, affection. From rituals in Mexico to customs in Asia, these practices aim to keep alive the memory of those we've loved and lost, connecting us to them across time and space.

Parts Three and Four: The Supernatural and Legends

Here we venture a little further into the realm of the supernatural. The third part contains legends, stories and creatures of the night that are linked to the theme of death. There are fascinating myths and creatures you may not have heard of, but trust me, you'll love them.

Finally, in part four, I explore haunted places and mysterious spaces. If you're into supernatural legends, shows like Supernatural (sadly no Winchester brothers here - life isn't perfect) and creepy places that give you goosebumps (without being overly gruesome), these two sections are for you.

Who is this book for?

  • Lovers of cultural traditions and anthropology: If you're curious about how different cultures around the world honour and connect with their dead, this book will fascinate you.
  • People going through a period of mourning: Something I hadn't considered until a reader mentioned it in a review is that this book can be a source of comfort for those coping with loss. It offers new perspectives and ways of understanding grief through different cultural traditions.
  • Fans of the supernatural: If you enjoy legends, creatures of the night and haunted places, this book has a lot to offer.
And who is this book not for?

If you’re looking for gore, cheap scares, or sensationalist stories, this isn’t the book for you. There are no typical ghosts or gratuitous thrills here. Instead, it’s a book that blends reflection, culture, and a touch of mystery—all presented with respect and humanity.

Is it suitable for all ages?

Yes! While I wouldn’t recommend it for very young children, there’s nothing in this book that I wouldn’t let a 14-year-old read. It’s designed to be accessible and enriching for readers of all ages.

Where to find it?

Noches de Sombras (Nights of Shadows) is available on Amazon, and I believe it’s still at a special price. If you haven’t read it yet, I invite you to check it out. I’m sure you’ll discover something you didn’t expect to find.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope this post has cleared up any doubts you may have had about the book. See you soon!

All my love,
Angela ❤️

I can't find NOCHES DE SOMBRAS in the Kindle store. Is it not available in e-pub format?
